Emergency information should be understandable
Texas Hazard Watch is designed for keyboard access, readable structure, responsive layouts, meaningful link text, and information that does not depend on color alone.
Current approach
Semantic headings, visible focus behavior, text labels beside status colors, scalable layouts, and descriptive controls are used throughout the public site.
Complex maps
Maps are paired with lists, summaries, source links, and text facts whenever the underlying data allows so a map is not the only path to the information.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is treated as continuing maintenance, not a one-time certification. New dashboards and records should preserve these patterns.
Report a barrier
If a page, chart, map, control, or document is difficult to use, send the page URL, the device or assistive technology involved, and a short description of the barrier. No claim of perfect conformance is made; specific reports help improve the site.
