LOCAL POWER OUTAGE HELP

If your home is dark, check your utility—not ERCOT

ERCOT can report Normal Conditions while one street, neighborhood, or city has an outage. Your local utility maintains the poles and wires and provides restoration estimates.

Different from statewide grid status
1
Report the outage

Use your utility's app, text service, website, or outage phone number. Do not assume the outage has already been reported.

2
Track restoration

Check the utility's official outage map or alerts for crew status and estimated restoration time.

!
Treat downed lines as live

Stay well away. For sparking wires, fire, or immediate danger, call 911 and notify the utility.

Many Texans are served by municipal utilities or electric cooperatives. Use the statewide locator if your company is not listed below.

How to read this: Texas Hazard Watch repeats ERCOT's statewide condition and explains published measurements. It cannot determine whether power is on at your address. Forecast margin is calculated from ERCOT forecast fields; it is not a separate emergency declaration. The utility that maintains your local poles and wires handles outage restoration, and it may be different from the retail company shown on your electric bill.
