TEXAS IMPACT

Verified Texas effects

Edouard made landfall near Johnson Bayou, Louisiana, on September 1, 2026, while its rainbands spread into southeastern Texas. By the evening of September 4, the National Weather Service reported moderate flooding occurring on Village Creek near Kountze in Hardin County. The creek was at 21.9 feet, a level at which water flows over the Highway 418 bridge, after reaching 22.4 feet during the previous 24 hours. Flood warnings also covered the Neches River at the Saltwater Barrier and Pine Island Bayou near Sour Lake, affecting Jefferson, Hardin, Jasper, and Orange Counties; forecast impacts in those warnings are not counted here as observed damage. This review is current through September 5, 2026. A final NHC Tropical Cyclone Report and complete damage assessment were not yet available.
